Heather Carmichael, L.Ac. was raised in Oakland, California. In 1993 she graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She began her medical career with a general practice of acupuncture and herbology in Portland until moving to Mesa, Arizona in 1997. Heather was the Director of the school of Acupuncture at the Southwest college of Naturopathic Medicine. With a passion for teaching, she taught Oriental Medicine in both clinic and classroom. Heather is the Director and co-owner of the Alaska Center for Natural Medicine. In 2006, Heather Carmichael won the prestigious award of Business Woman of the Year for the State of Alaska.
